If you haven't heard of HHH Architectural Tempering Systems, perhaps you've seen our work.

At HHH Architectural Tempering Systems, Inc., we are experienced veterans in the design, manufacturing and installation of tempering systems.
We've designed our equipment for the real world rigors of tempering today. We focus on reducing energy costs, easing maintenance, accurately monitoring furnace temperature, and consistent glass quality.
For your tempering equipment needs-- from complete turn-key tempering plants to single stage systems-- call on us and count on experience you can see.

WE'VE MINIMIZED ROLL DISTORTION

HHH reduced the possibility of the rolls taking a set or bow by keeping them rotating. The rolls never remain stationary for more than a few minutes, even when the system shuts down. To reduce roll distortions, the rolls that support hot glass have a low Hot Runout (TIR), or bow. All of our furnace rolls are hot TIR tested before installation in our furnaces.

Both the quench and prequench sections oscillate, providing more uniform air coverage during cooling. This makes a more uniform temper and reduces glass iridescence. The prequench rolls are non-marking, replaceable composite wheels. We supply the quench with tough, non-marking Kevlar rope.

EASILY MAINTAINED CONVEYOR SYSTEMS

HHH Tempering Systems uses furnace rolls made from rebonded fused silica - without end caps. The furnace rolls ride on O-ring tires that provide a vibration dampening, friction drive system. This shock absorbing feature helps prevent edge damaging to thick glass. For ease of maintenance and replacement, the furnace rolls simply lift out.

FLEXIBILITY WITH TYPES OF GLASS

As simple as the program is to operate, it allows powerful flexibility when it comes to running different types of glass. We supply operator files set-up for different types of glass, called "recipes." Or we can create custom "recipes" to fulfill your requirements. These files aid in ease of operation by allowing uniformity in operator settings.

DESIGNED FOR EMERGENCIES

Both quench rolls and furnace rolls are friction driven so if a roll jam ever occurs it simply stops while the rest of the rolls continue turning. This eliminates the damage that occurs with a positive drive system. We also equipped our conveyor system with a manually controlled emergency drive system, so in case a problem or power failure occurs it can be used to empty the system.

To clean broken glass and perform occasional maintenance, the upper and lower quench harps, as well as the prequench harps, open by simply operating a switch.

OPERATOR FRIENDLY

The system's furnace temperature is continuously monitored and controlled by the computer. To aid in trouble shooting, all pertinent information is displayed in a user-friendly format on the CRT operator's screen. We supply a Utilities menu that allows operation and check-out of all the furnaces exterior devices. This program also automatically generates helpfull reminders that assist in scheduling preventative maintenance for the tempering system.

To prevent unnecessary computer system shutdown, we include an uninterruptable power supply. We also offer optional remote monitoring and modem access.

COMPUTER CONTROLLED EASE

An off-the-shelf, IBM-compatible computer controls our glass-tempering systems thus ensuring quality and ease of operation. The control program, stored on the computer's hard drive, makes updating and customizing the system simple, and easily upgraded from floppy disk.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY INCREASES OUTPUT & LOWERS COSTS

HHH Architectural Tempering Systems builds furnaces using low thermal conductivity, light weight refractories, and heating sources that incorporate both radiant and convection heating. This construction lowers energy heating costs while allowing rapid system heat-up and shut down capabilities. The built-in auto-start feature allows oven shut down until just before the next operating shift, amassing great energy savings.

CONTINUOUS MONITORING OF ZONES

All heating zones are automatically checked and updated by the on board computer program to ensure proper operation. If a faulty zone is detected, the operator is alerted by both a visual and an audio alarm. Additionally, the heating element's power is proportionally controlled by computer with long-life mercury contractors.

HHH glass tempering systems feature a high efficiency pass-thru prequench and a rugged cooling quench section designed to minimize horsepower requirements. The prequench design produces a very high heat transfer efficiency. The main quench, while operating at high efficiency, still allows for the easy removal of broken glass. The roof of the furnace raises to allow easy access to the easily reparable, nickel-chrome alloy heating elements.

LOW MAINTENACE EXPENSES

Our systems are not a manufacturer's permanent annuity. Not only do we supply spare parts with each system, we also use off-the-shelf items that usually can be purchased locally to minimize your down time.

ABOUT HHH ARCHITECTURAL SYSTEMS INC.

HHH takes a wholly different approach from other tempering equipment suppliers. In today's tough, competitive glass industry, it's not enough to be experts in equipment manufacturing. Our manufacturing facility in Vancouver, Washington, houses engineering, CAD, research and a design staff. Our plant includes numerically controlled mills and lathes. MIG and TIG welding machines, and sheet metal fabrication equipment. We even fabricate our own computer and electrical panels, and continually develop computer software, customizing it for specific requirements. Yet, all this is only part of the package we provide you, our customer.

What differentiates HHH most is our extensive glass industry experience. We're knowledgeable in all aspects of the industry from plant layout to the actual operation of tempering equipment. This means we manufacture equipment designed for real-world situations. We focus on important factors like reducing energy costs, easy maintenance, accurate monitoring of furnace temperature, and glass quality, and we design and manufacture these qualities into each piece of equipment.

Our dedicated staff can accommodate you with everything from complete leading-edge, turn-key glass tempering plants to single-stage tempering systems. Our electrical department offers assistance to your electrical contractor from design to finish. We help with material flow, inventory tracking and order entry. We even supply service work and parts for other types of glass tempering equipment.

Our industry experience is why our people are frequently called upon to provide assistance to glass tempering operations worldwide.
